Marked World Population Day 2024 discussing Data System in Nepal

FPAN in collaboration with Population Association of Nepal (PAN) and Nepal Institute of Peace (NIP), organised a talk program on Data System in Nepal: Population and Development Discourse, on the occasion World Popualtion Day 2024, at FPAN Hall, Pulchowk, Lalitpur, on July 27, 2024.

In the program, Munni Kumari Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Statistician, National Statistics Office (NSO); Nilambar Badal, National Network for Safe Migration (NNSM); and Chet Joshi, OLE Manager, Family Planning Association of Nepal presented the papers related to data system in National Statistics office, challenges of Emigration data in Nepal and data managementent system in FPAN respecticely. Laxmi Ghimire, Programme Director, National Planning Commission (NPC); Dr. Uddhav Sigdel, Associate Professor, Central Department of Population Studies (CDPS); Tribhuvan University (TU); and Manumaya Mishra, Vice-president, Population Association of Nepal commented on the papers. The program started with welcome remarks from Ajit Acharya, General Secretary of PAN. Dr. Prabin Shakya, Executive Director, FPAN gave concuding remarks with vote of thanks. Finally, Dr. Padma Prasad Khatiwada, President, Population Association of Nepal (PAN) concluded the program with a closing remark.
